Surf Sports

Surf sports competition offers every member the chance to test their skills and fitness against the very best lifesavers from around the country at various local, state and interstate carnivals.

To compete at Surf Sports carnivals whether beach, water or multi-discipline events every athlete must have the minimum qualification of a proficient Bronze Medallion (Surf Rescue Certificate for U15 competitors) and must meet the patrol hour requirements and patrol team obligations of their membership category. Sunshine Beach members compete in all ages from Nippers, through Opens to Masters and we are proud to have many champions that call Sunshine Beach Surf Club home.

We continually strive to provide the best possible training and development  for all levels of athletic ability and commitment. To this end the Club offers professional coaching in a variety of disciplines and all members are encouraged to participate.

Surf Sports Training Programs

  • U11-U14 & Seniors board and multi/iron training program for February
  • Ski training (bronze holders only) is held on Tuesdays 4.30pm @ Noosa West Beach (groyne)
  • Beach training (sprints & flags) is held on Mondays & Thursdays 4.00pm @ Sunshine Beach SLSC – all ages welcome
