Put your Skills & Fitness to the Test

Surf sports competition offers every member the chance to test their skills and fitness against the very best lifesavers from around the country at local, state and interstate carnivals.

To compete at Surf Sports carnivals whether beach, water or multi-discipline events every athlete must have the minimum qualification of a proficient Bronze Medallion (Surf Rescue Certificate for U15 competitors) and must meet the patrol hour requirements and patrol team obligations of their membership category. Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club is proud to have a number of champions that call our Club home.

We continually strive to provide the best possible training and development  for all levels of athletic ability and commitment. To this end the Club offers professional coaching in a variety of disciplines and all members are encouraged to participate.

Surf Sports Training Programs

• U14′s to Masters – fitness and competition specific sessions
• Ski training – Bronze Medallion holders only
• U14′s to Masters – board training
• All ages – Flags & beach sprints
• Pool rescue training

Carnivals

Carnivals are listed in the Sea Eagle newsletter as details come to hand and members can nominate for events by completing their details on the Surf Sports noticeboard. Your Team Manager will contact you with carnival details when all entries are confirmed. Entry fees are paid by the Club. Please contact lifesaving administration as soon as possible if you have to withdraw your nomination to avoid being charged for non-attendance.

All competitors are required to assist with fundraising to cover associated costs such as accommodation at away carnivals, repair and maintenance of gear and equipment, and coaching fees. Members will be notified via SMS and the Sea Eagle regarding raffle duties.
