Sunshine Beach Junior Lifesavers

Our Junior Activities program first began in 1994 and has now developed into one of the most successful and recognised Junior Activities and sporting programs in Queensland. From our Club Sundays to the surf sports arena we look to provide our young lifesavers with confidence, knowledge and skills in a fun and enjoyable environment, whilst promoting fair play, teamwork and a healthy active lifestyle. Nippers are ages 6 -13 years as of midnight on 30th September.

Sunday nippers Program

Junior activities are held each Sunday 7.45am until 10.00am approx. Muster is held outside the rollerdoors on the parkside of the Club house. Some exceptions apply due to carnivals and public holidays – see our Junior Activities calendar for more information.

Nipper Registrations

Nipper registrations for the 2026/27 season are now open! To renew your membership or register for the first time, login to the SLS Hub or select Sign Up by clicking HERE. Membership fees for 2026/27 can be found under Guides & Forms below.

Our first Nipper Sunday is scheduled for Sunday 11th October 2026 and the program will run until 7th March 2027. We are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning families as we kick off another fantastic season.

Before the season begins, we will be holding our Pool Proficiency sessions at Coolum Aquatic Centre on Saturday 12th September and Saturday 19th September from 10am to 12pm, where all age groups can complete their mandatory pool competency and collect their uniforms. Register for one of these sessions by clicking HERE. All memberships must be paid online before attending a Pool Proficiency session.

We need your support! The Junior Activities Committee is busy preparing another fun and engaging season, but we can’t do it without your support. We still have a number of positions to fill, along with several important on-beach volunteer roles that are essential for our Nipper Sundays and carnival days to run safely and successfully. When completing the Pool Proficiency Registration Form, you’ll also have the opportunity to let us know how you’d like to get involved. Whether it’s helping on the beach, assisting behind the scenes or joining the committee, every contribution makes a difference.

In Qld, anyone working or volunteering with children in child-related activities within Surf Life Saving Queensland requires a current Blue Card. Sunshine Beach SLSC is a family-oriented club, and all Active, Award, Long Service and Associate (Nipper) Members aged 18 years and over are required to hold and maintain a current Blue Card.
